About

Around 2004-2005 was when I (the founder of CloudDev) started learning about languages such as Javascript. As I began to gain more experience with Javascript I soon realized that the web was a much more capable platform to develop for than I had previously imagined. Part of that understanding came from when I developed the online I.D.E. for web applications named DHTML-STUDIO - after being inspired by W3School’s Tryit Editor. Realizing how beneficial and capable web applications were becoming set me off to create a web site where developers could share knowledge, scripts, and demos in the pursuit of gaining the knowledge and skills required for tomorrows web applications. As a result I purchased my first shared hosting account with the domain slickjs.org. The site was never published - partially because I had just started college and had nothing but notepad to build the site with. Later I came into luck when my family started a web development company named China Hand Solutions. The company needed a rapid platform on which to build database driven sites on which was also exactly what slickjs.org needed. This was when I learned about the concept of a CMS (Content Management System) and about Drupal. Eventually I created the Drupal template for slickjs.org and the site was renamed to clouddev.org for the more professional sound it carried. At last the site launched bearing this new name and strives to provide resources for future and current Javascript programmers of the cloud.
